GARAGE: #OPENING OF THE YEAR
WOODY ALLEN, MIUCCIA PRADA AND GEORGE LUCAS IN GORKY PARK

Yes, we did it. Three days and hundreds of publications in international publications. More than 3000 guests, including 700 film, fashion and art stars, 70 waiters and another 100 attendants. Press conferences and round tables for journalists from all over the world. A private gala dinner by chef Denis Kalmysh in the atrium of the museum and a DJ set by Michel Gober on the rooftop. Special guided tours, a performance by Thai conceptualist Tiravanija and a performance by the Kuban Cossack Choir. Fifty dumplings, 86 kilos of caviar and 450 litres of champagne.

"The opening of the new building of the Garage Museum has long been dubbed 'the opening of the year', and such a statement does not seem to be an exaggeration at all."

"Garage, a place where contemporary art, cutting-edge ideas and people meet to create history, opened the doors of its new home in June 2015. The entire international cultural community came to congratulate the museum's founder Daria Zhukova and its godfather, architect Rem Koolhaas: Woody Allen, Miuccia Prada, George Lucas, Jeff Koons, Massimiliano Gioni, Michael Gauvin, Hans-Ulrich Obrist, Adam Weinberg, Klaus Biesenbach, Stella McCartney, Arianna Huffington, Konstantin Ernst, Alena Doletskaya, Alexander Mamut, Natalia Vodianova, Leonid Parfenov, Ksenia Sobchak, Irina Hakamada, Aidan Salakhova and many others.

"The opening is organised impeccably," writes Pavel Vardishvili, chief surgeon of the capital's secular chronicle. - Volunteers meet visitors at the main entrance and don't let them out of their sight until they escape into the museum, while explaining the way in three languages. The waiters never forget what exactly you are eating and drinking. And on the roof of the Garage, where the guests, having already seen all the exhibitions, quench their thirst with champagne, white wine and cocktails with Beluga vodka, Frenchman Michel Gober plays music. Yes, the same one who writes music for important Dior and Chanel shows".

Light, sound and special effects, logistics and communications, tours, shuttles, catering, concierge service and 24-hour call centre, furniture, staff clothing and souvenirs, "live" navigation in the park and adaptive inside the museum... In order to ensure that all stages and every detail of the #opening of the year met the unspoken standard of "only we are better than us", the DEPARTÁMENT working group in conjunction with the marketing department of the Garage Museum worked 24/7, and we thank the contractor - SINERGIA.
